Georgia Insurance Exam
As a full-service insurance licensing provider, our goal is to guide you through the insurance application process. We have simplified the licensing process down to a few basic steps to make getting your Georgia insurance license even easier.
Georgia Insurance Exam Qualifications
In order to qualify to sit for your Property & Casualty Exam, the following must occur:
- Successfully complete an approved insurance course for that respective license, such as those provided by Gatson Training Associates. Provider ID# 126771
- Sit for the state exam within 12 months from the date of your course completion
- Complete an online application for your insurance license and submit appropriate fees
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of the state of Georgia
- Be a United States citizen or legal alien who possesses a work authorization from the United States Immigration and Naturalization Services
Basic Steps to Obtain a Georgia Insurance License
- Successfully complete a pre-licensing course by an approved Georgia insurance school.
- Upon successfully completing the pre-licensing course, you can schedule your state exam online at Pearson Vue. Once there, choose Request an Examination Reservation. First time users must obtain a check-in code and will be asked to provide their name, email address and phone number, as well as a personal password. You will receive a check-in code immediately upon submitting the requested information and you will then be prompted to complete the online Reservation Request Form. You may also reserve a test date over the phone by calling 1-800-274-0488.
- Upon successful completion of your state exam, you should complete an insurance license application through Vertafore (formerly Sircon). Once you are on Vertafore’s website, you will choose ‘Apply for a license’ from the menu on the left. On the next page choose ‘Individual’ next to Submit Resident Application. Next, complete the application by choosing Georgia, entering your information and submitting the appropriate documentation and paying the application fees.
- Completion of electronic fingerprints by a LiveScan site are required in conjunction with your application, and can be completed at any time during your pre-licensing process. Fingerprints are automatically sent to the Georgia Department of Insurance and are valid for twelve months from the date of completion.
Note: Candidates who fail the examination three (3) times and had taken a pre-licensing course through an online provider will be required to retake an in-classroom pre-licensing course prior to retaking the examination.

$63 Exam Fee – This is the cost to register for your Georgia insurance exam
$15 Application Fee – Paid during online application at Sircon
$50 License – Paid during online application at Sircon
$48.25 – Electronic Fingerprint Fee
Helpful Hints to Licensure
- Your Certificate of Completion that you receive upon passing the course final exam is valid for a period of 12 months.
- If English is not your first language, you can request an additional hour for your Georgia insurance exam by contacting us, and your instructor can notify Pearson Vue on your behalf. For additional information, you can also contact Pearson Vue directly by phone at 1-800-466-0450. This must be completed prior to scheduling your Georgia insurance exam.
- If you have any background issues regarding law enforcement records, you will want to obtain the following paperwork from the court clerk’s office in the county it occurred, and mail it to the Georgia Department of Insurance upon completion of your online application.
